Ok this is a tricky one. Don't presume he does like you. He may, he may not. Find out first and get all the evidence before you jump to conclusions. Next, figure out if you do like him. There's no point thinking you do but when you come to going out with him, you don't. A good way to do this is make a scene in your head asif you do go out. If you like what you see, ask him out, you never know, if you dont like what you see, you may not be all that into him. When I was young, I liked a girl but didn't want to go out with her beause she had been out with lots of other guys. I didn't want to be one of those guys that she broke the hearts of. You may feel like this, in this situation, I would take more time to think and if you don't want to go out with him and you do like him, try and move on by crushing on someone else or just getting him out of your head.

A boy named Jai emailed me saying:

I think I'm starting to turn gay! I like my best friend and I dont know what to do...should I tell him?

First off, it's ok to be gay. There's no problem with it. My advice for this would be to stay calm, think about him:

a) if he's understanding, tell him how you feel, get it off your chest. You never know, he might feel the same way. If he doesnt, he'll understand and you can carry on being friends without it being weird.

b) if he's a bit of a joker, it's not your best option to tell him. He may feel awkward or pressured and you may end up losing your relationship. Find a trusted friend to tell to get it out, a friend that will understand. Maybe if you feel comfortable, and youre alone and have loads of time to talk, you could talk it out with him in a serious way otherwise he may make jokes. Remember, it's about when you feel comfortable. Only you can decide that time.
